Composition
Active ingredient: Dry extract of ginkgo bilobaca leaves standardized with flavonic glycosides content of 22-27% and terpene lactones 5-12%. Concentration of active substance (mg): 80
Pharmacological effect
Means of plant origin. The effect is due to the nature of its influence on the metabolic processes in cells, the rheological properties of blood and microcirculation, as well as on vasomotor reactions of large blood vessels. It improves cerebral circulation and the supply of oxygen and glucose to the brain. It has a vasodilating effect, inhibits platelet aggregation. Normalizes metabolic processes, has an antihypoxic effect on tissue. Interferes with lipid peroxidation and the formation of free radicals in cell membranes. It has a pronounced anti-edema effect at the level of the brain and in peripheral tissues. Under various pathological conditions, it prevents the enhancement of serum proteolytic activity.
Indications
Brain dysfunctions, including age-related, associated with impaired cerebral circulation, accompanied by attention disorders, memory impairment, decreased intellectual abilities, dizziness, tinnitus, headache; disorders of peripheral blood circulation and microcirculation, accompanied by a feeling of cold in the limbs, pain when walking, painful cramps and heaviness in the legs, paresthesias; dysfunction of the inner ear, manifested by dizziness, unstable gait and tinnitus.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, reduced blood clotting, erosive gastritis, peptic ulcer and duodenal ulcer in the acute stage, acute disorders of cerebral circulation, acute myocardial infarction; children's age up to 18 years (due to the lack of sufficient clinical data).
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Ginkgo biloba is contraindicated for use during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding).
Dosage and administration
Inside. Capsules should be swallowed whole, washed down with a sufficient amount of liquid, regardless of the meal.
Side effects
Allergic reactions: Very rare: skin hyperemia, edema, pruritus. On the digestive system: Very rare: dyspepsia (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea). On the side of hemostasis system: Very rare: decrease in blood clotting, bleeding (with long-term use in patients , at the same time taking drugs that reduce blood clotting). Other: Very rare: headache, dizziness, hearing loss, insomnia.
Overdose
Cases of drug overdose have not yet been reported.
Interaction with other drugs
There are reports that the use of Ginkgo biloba drugs and simultaneous thrombolytic therapy (taking anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, including acetylsalicylic acid) increases the risk of hemorrhage in the brain.

The use of ginkgo biloba preparations should be avoided in the presence of risk factors for the development of intracranial hemorrhage.
