Composition
Pyrlindol hydrochloride 50 mg. Excipients: lactose, potato starch, calcium stearate.
Pharmacological effect
Antidepressant. It combines the thymoleptic effect with a balanced effect on the central nervous system, while the activating effect on patients with apathetic, anergic depressions is combined with a sedative effect in patients in an agitated state. Selectively, briefly and reversibly inhibits MAO type A. to a high degree blocks deamination of serotonin and norepinephrine, and to a lesser extent, tyramine. Partially inhibits monoamine reuptake. It activates the processes of synaptic transmission of nervous excitement in the central nervous system. Weakens the depressive effects of reserpine, potentiates the effects of the precursor of norepinephrine - dioxyphenylalanine (L-dopa), stimulates adrenergic structures. potentiates the effects of the precursor of serotonin 5-hydroxytryptophan (stimulates serotonergic structures). Does not possess anticholinergic action. It has a nootropic effect, improves cognitive function.
Indications
Depression of various origins, mainly with psychomotor retardation and asthenic disorders, with anxiety-depressive or anxiety-delusional components. Senile, involutional depression. Alcohol withdrawal syndrome. Alzheimer's disease (as part of complex therapy).
Contraindications
Individual hypersensitivity to the drug. Acute hepatitis. Blood disorders. Simultaneous reception with MAO inhibitors (see. "Special Instructions").
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Adequate and strictly controlled studies on the safety and efficacy of the drug during pregnancy and lactation have not been conducted.
Dosage and administration
Inside 50–75 mg (0.05–0.075 g) per day in 2 divided doses, gradually increasing the dose by 25–50 mg to 150–300 mg (0.15–0.30 g) per day. The maximum daily dose is 400 mg divided into 2–3 doses. After achieving a therapeutic effect, treatment is continued with an individually selected dose for 2-4 weeks, after which the dose is gradually reduced.
