Pyrithione zinc 2 mg. Auxiliary substances: macrogol cetostearate, cetostearyl alcohol, liquid paraffin (vaseline oil), propylene glycol, dexpanthenol (D-panthenol), sodium dihydrophosphate dihydrate, sodium dodecahydrate hydrophosphate, water, purified water
Pharmacological effect
Dermato-protective drug. Pyrithione zinc has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antifungal activity. Antibacterial activity of zinc pyrithione is manifested against a number of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria: Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus spp. Pyrithione zinc reduces the intracellular level of ATP, contributes to the depolarization of cell membranes, causing the death of fungi and bacteria. Antifungal activity is particularly pronounced with the action on Pityrosporum ovale and Pityrosporum orbiculare, causing inflammation and excessive flaking with dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis and other skin diseases. The mechanism of anti-inflammatory action has not been studied.
Pharmacokinetics
Systemic absorption is insignificant. The drug is found in the blood in trace amounts.
Indications
- psoriasis - atopic dermatitis (eczema, neurodermatitis) - seborrheic dermatitis - dry skin.
Contraindications
- children's age up to 1 year - hypersensitivity to the drug components.
Dosage and administration
The drug is intended for external use in adults and children aged 1 year and older. The cream is applied with a thin layer to the affected areas 2-3 times / day. The duration of treatment for psoriasis is 1-1.5 months, repeated courses are conducted when signs of exacerbation appear, for atopic dermatitis - 3-4 weeks, for seborrheic dermatitis - 2 weeks.
