Pharmacokinetics
The adapalene absorption through the skin is very low (about 4% of the applied dose). Excretion from the body occurs mainly through bile.
Indications
Acne.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the drug.
Precautionary measures
According to the instructions to Differin, the drug should be applied once a day before bedtime, applying it or a thin layer on the entire surface of the skin affected by acne, or pointwise. It is important to avoid Differin in the eyes and around the eyes, as well as on the mucous membranes of the nose and lips. In case of accidental ingestion of a cream or gel in the eyes or on the lips, rinse thoroughly with warm running water. When using Differin, it is not recommended to take sun baths and spend as little time as possible in the open sun. Also, before using the drug is not recommended to use cosmetics with a drying effect (soap, alcohol-containing lotions, tonics). It is best to use moisturizers for make-up, moisturizers, Panthenol, Bepanthen for dry places. Treatment with Differin can be supplemented with morning use of drugs that help reduce acne, for example, with erythromycin or clindamycin lotion.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
The use of the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended.
Dosage and administration
Cream or gel evenly, without rubbing, applied to the affected skin 1 rasut before bedtime. The drug should be applied to clean, dry skin. The therapeutic effect develops after 4-8 weeks of therapy, persistent improvement - after 3 months from the start of therapy. Perhaps repeated courses of drug therapy on the recommendation of a doctor. Differin is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate acne as monotherapy, and for moderate acne also in combination with other topical (antibiotics, benzoyl peroxide) and systemic (antibiotics, antiandrogens for oral administration) drugs.
Side effects
Local reactions: when applying a cream or gel in excessive amounts, redness and peeling of the skin is possible.
Overdose
Overdose is unlikely.
Interaction with other drugs
Since the drug does not interact with oxygen and is not destroyed by the action of light, it can be used with other local and systemic drugs for the treatment of acne, such as clindamycin phosphate or benzoyl peroxide (see "Special instructions").

Avoid getting the gel or cream in the eyes, on the lips and on the mucous membranes. In case of accidental contact with the mucous membranes of the eyes, mouth or nose, rinse thoroughly with warm water. Avoid direct sunlight, as skin irritation may occur. Treatment can be continued if solar exposure is minimized (use of sunglasses and hats). The simultaneous use of cosmetics with a drying or irritating effect on the skin (for example, perfume or alcohol-containing agents) is not recommended. Adapalen, applied to the skin in the evening, can be combined with preparations for the treatment of acne, used in the morning.
