Pharmacological effect
Antiseptic agent. Antimicrobial effect of the drug Geksoral; associated with the suppression of oxidative metabolic reactions of bacteria (thiamine antagonist). The drug has a broad spectrum of antibacterial and antifungal effects, in particular against gram-positive bacteria and fungi of the genus Candida, however, Geksoral; may also have an effect in the treatment of infections caused by, for example, Pseudomonas aeruginosa or Proteus. At a concentration of 100 mg / ml, the drug inhibits most strains of bacteria. The development of resistance was not observed. The drug has an antiviral effect against influenza A viruses, respiratory syncytial virus (PC virus), herpes simplex virus type 1, affecting the respiratory tract. Hexethydine has a weak anesthetic effect on the mucous membrane.
Pharmacokinetics
Hexetidine adheres very well to the mucous membrane and is practically not absorbed. After a single application of the drug, traces of the active substance are found on the mucous membrane of the gums for 65 hours. In dental plaque, active concentrations persist for 10-14 hours after application.
Indications
As a symptomatic remedy in the treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx: - tonsillitis; - sore throat (including sore throat with lesions of the lateral ridges, angina Plyut-Vincent); - periodontal disease; - fungal diseases. With the aim of preventing infectious complications before and after surgical interventions in the oral cavity and pharynx, as well as for injuries (including prevention of infection of the alveoli after extraction of the tooth). Contraindications

Precautionary measures
