Pharmacological effect
Ketoconazole, a synthetic imidazole-dioxolane derivative, has antifungal activity against dermatophytes such as Trichophyton spp., Epidermophyton spp., Microsporum spp. and yeast-like fungi, such as Candida spp. and Malassezia furfur (Pityrosporum ovale). Zinc pyrithione has an antiproliferative effect on epithelial cells and shows antifungal activity against Pityrosporum ovale and Pityrosporum orbiculare, causing excessive peeling of the skin. Keto shampoo plus quickly reduces flaking and itching of the scalp, which is usually associated with dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis.
Pharmacokinetics
Absorption of active substances through the skin when applied topically is negligible. Since even with prolonged use, the content of ketoconazole and zinc pyrithione in the blood is not determined, it can be concluded that the drug does not have a systemic effect.
Indications
Treatment and prevention of skin and scalp lesions caused by the yeast-like microorganisms Malassezia furfur (Pityrosporum ovale), including: pityriasis versicolor; seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp and various types of dandruff.

Use during pregnancy and lactation
Since the local components of the drug are practically not absorbed, the use of shampoo during pregnancy and the breastfeeding period is not contraindicated.
Dosage and administration
Outwardly. Apply to the affected areas of the skin and scalp for 3-5 minutes, then wash off with water. The course of treatment for pityriasis versus lichen is daily for 5–7 days; with seborrheic dermatitis - 2 times a week for 1 month.Bone-chop prevention - daily for 3-5 days; seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp - 1 time per week for 1 month.
Side effects
