Pharmacological effect
A means of affecting the metabolism in cartilage tissue. Replenishes the natural deficiency of glucosamine, stimulates the synthesis of proteoglycans and hyaluronic acid of synovial fluid; increases the permeability of the articular capsule, restores the enzymatic processes in the cells of the synovial membrane and articular cartilage. It promotes sulfur fixation during the synthesis of chondroitin sulfuric acid, facilitates the normal deposition of calcium in bone tissue, inhibits the development of degenerative processes in the joints, restores their function and reduces pain.
Indications
Primary and secondary osteoarthritis, humeroscapular periarthritis, osteochondrosis, spondylosis, chondromalacia of the patella.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to glucosamine, phenylketonuria (if aspartame is included in the composition of the drug), pregnancy, lactation.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Possible: epigastric pain, nausea, flatulence, diarrhea, constipation, allergic reactions.
Dosage and administration
Is ingested by 1.5 g 1 time / day. The duration of treatment is usually 6 weeks, if necessary, longer. The course of treatment is usually repeated at intervals of 2 months.
Side effects
With the combined use of glucosamine increases the absorption of tetracyclines from the gastrointestinal tract and reduces - penicillins and chloramphenicol.
