Composition
Benzydamine hydrochloride 255 mcg. Auxiliary substances: ethanol 96%, glycerol, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, menthol flavoring, saccharin, sodium bicarbonate, polysorbate 20, purified water.
Pharmacological effect
NSAIDs from the group of indosols for local use in ENT practice and in dentistry. It has anti-inflammatory and local analgesic effect. The mechanism of action of the drug is associated with the stabilization of cell membranes and the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. When applied topically, the drug is well absorbed through the mucous membranes and penetrates into the inflamed tissue.
Pharmacokinetics
Benzydamine is excreted by the kidneys and through the intestines.
Indications
Inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and ENT organs: - gingivitis, glossitis, stomatitis (including after radiation and chemotherapy); - sore throat, pharyngitis, laryngitis, tonsillitis; - candidiasis (as a part of combination therapy); - salivary gland calculus - after surgery and injuries (including tonsillectomy, fractures of the jaw); - after treatment or extraction of teeth; - periodontal disease. In infectious and inflammatory diseases, Tantum Verde should be used as part of combination therapy.
Contraindications
- children's age up to 12 years (for a solution for local use); - phenylketonuria (for pills); - hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Precautionary measures
During treatment, psoriasis may worsen. During pheochromocytoma, propranolol can only be used after taking an alpha blocker. After a long course of treatment, propranolol should be discontinued gradually, under the supervision of a physician. during anesthesia, you must stop taking propranolol or find a remedy for anesthesia with minimal negative inotropic effects. The impact on the ability to drive vehicles and control mechanisms of patients whose activities require increased attention, the question of the use of propranolol on an outpatient basis should be addressed only after evaluating the individual response of the patient.
Use during pregnancy and lactation

Dosage and administration
Tablets for sucking appoint 1 tab. 3-4 times / day. The topical solution is used in 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of the preparation for rinsing the mouth or throat every 1.5-3 hours to relieve pain. After rinsing, the solution must be spit out. Adults (including the elderly) are prescribed 4-8 doses of spray every 1.5-3 hours. Children aged 6-12 years - 4 doses each; children under 6 years of age set the dose at the rate of 1 dose for every 4 kg of body weight (maximum 4 doses) every 1.5-3 hours.
Side effects
Local reactions: dry mouth, numbness, burning sensation in the oral cavity. Allergic reactions: skin rash. Others: drowsiness.
Overdose
Currently, no cases of overdose of Tantum Verde have been reported.
Interaction with other drugs
Clinically significant drug interaction of the drug Tantum Verde has not been established.
special instructions
Spray should be avoided in the eyes. If a burning sensation occurs during the application of the solution, then the solution should be diluted 2-fold with water by adjusting the water level to the risks in a graduated cup.
