Pharmacological effect
Combined drug whose effect is due to the composition of its constituent components. Paracetamol has anesthetic and antipyretic effects, these effects are due to inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis in the CNS. Phenylephrine is a postsynaptic α-adrenoreceptor agonist with low cardio-selective affinity for β-adrenoreceptors. Decongestant, narrows blood vessels, eliminates swelling and hyperemia of the nasal mucosa.
Pharmacokinetics
Absorption and distributionParacetamol is rapidly and completely absorbed from the small intestine. Cmax in the blood is observed after 15-20 minutes after ingestion. Systemic bioavailability is determined by presystemic metabolism and, depending on the dose, ranges from 70% to 90%. Paracetamol spreads rapidly to all tissues of the body and hasPhenylephrine quickly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Cmax is reached after 1-2 hours. Contraindications
