Pharmacological effect
Combined tool, whose action is due to its constituent components. It has antacid, adsorbing, enveloping, carminative effect. Algeldrat (aluminum hydroxide) and magnesium hydroxide neutralize free hydrochloric acid in the stomach, lower the acidity of the gastric juice, bind bile acids. The laxative effect of magnesium hydroxide balances the ability of algaldrata to slow down intestinal motility. Simethicone hinders the formation of gas bubbles and contributes to their destruction. The gases released at the same time are absorbed by the intestinal walls and excreted from the body thanks to peristalsis.
Pharmacokinetics
Due to physiological and chemical inertness, simethicone is not absorbed into organs and tissues and, after passing through the gastrointestinal tract, is excreted unchanged. The absorption of aluminum and magnesium ions in the intestine is low. With normal kidney function, the concentration of aluminum and magnesium in the blood does not change. In patients with chronic renal failure, the level of aluminum and magnesium in the blood may rise to toxic values as a result of a violation of their excretion.
Indications
Peptic ulcer and duodenal ulcer in the acute phase. Acute gastritis. Chronic gastritis. Gastroduodenitis with normal or increased secretory function in the acute phase. Hernia of the esophageal orifice. Reflux esophagitis. Discomfort or pain in the epigastrium, dyspeptic phenomena (heartburn, sour belching) that occur after dietary errors, excessive use of alcohol, coffee, nicotine.
Contraindications
Severe renal dysfunction. Hypersensitivity to the drug.
Precautionary measures

Dosage and administration
Adults. Inside, 2 scoops of suspension 4 times / day. 1 hour after meals and in the evening before bedtime. Side effects

Overdose
Symptoms Prolonged use of high doses can lead to the development of hypermagnesia, which is characterized by rapid fatigue, facial flushing, exhaustion, muscle weakness and inadequate behavior. There may also be signs of metabolic alkalosis: a change in mood, a mental disorder, numbness or muscle pain, nervousness and fatigue, slowing breathing, unpleasant taste sensations. Interaction with other drugs

The interval between taking Almagel Neo and other medicines should be 1-2 hours. With a long reception should be sufficient intake of phosphorus from food. Due to the lack of data from controlled clinical trials, Almagel Neo women who are breastfeeding should be taken only after consulting a doctor. One scoop (5 ml) of the preparation contains 0.113 g of ethanol, as a result of which complications may occur in patients with liver and brain diseases, in people with alcoholism and epilepsy, in pregnant women and children under 18 years of age. The daily dose of the drug (8 scoops) contains 0.904 g of ethanol, the maximum daily dose of the suspension (12 scoops) contains 1.356 g of ethanol. One scoop (5 ml) of Almagel Neo contains 0.475 g of sorbitol, which is contraindicated for congenital fructose intolerance and may cause irritation of the stomach and diarrhea. It does not adversely affect the ability to control vehicles and work with mechanisms that require increased concentration of attention and psychomotor speed.
