Composition

Vaginal suppositories are white to white with a yellowish tinge, torpedo-shaped. 1 supp. benzalkonium chloride 18.9 mg. Excipients: Witepsol.

Pharmacological effect

Contraceptive drug for local use. It has a spermicidal effect, as well as an antiseptic, antifungal, antiprotozoal effect, inactivates the Herpes simplex virus. The drug is active against gram-positive bacteria (including Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp.). Gram-negative bacteria (including Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Proteus spp., Klebsiella spp.). anaerobic bacteria, fungi and molds. Also active against bacterial strains resistant to antibiotics and other chemotherapeutic drugs. suppresses plasma coagulase and staphylococcal hyaluronidase. The spermicidal effect of the drug is due to the ability to damage the sperm membranes (at the beginning of the flagella, then the head), which makes it impossible to fertilize the egg with a damaged sperm cell.
