Pharmacological effect
Oral hypoglycemic agent, a derivative of sulfonylurea II generation. Diabefarm MB stimulates insulin secretion by pancreatic β-cells. Increases the sensitivity of peripheral tissues to insulin. Apparently, it stimulates the activity of intracellular enzymes (in particular, muscle glycogen synthetase). Indications
Insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (type 2) moderate with initial manifestations of diabetic microangiopathy. Prevention of microcirculation disorders (as part of combination therapy with other sulfonylurea derivatives).
Contraindications
Insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (type I), ketoacidosis, diabetic precoma and coma, marked impairment of kidney and liver function, hypersensitivity to sulfonylurea derivatives and sulfanilamide drugs. The simultaneous use of gliclazide and imidazole derivatives (including miconazole).
Use during pregnancy and lactation
