Pharmacological effect

Sclerosing agent, non-ionic surfactant.

Indications

For sclerosis of varicose veins of the limbs, esophagus, stomach, as well as hemorrhoids, peripheral and central veins telangiectasias.

Contraindications

Shock, endocarditis, myocarditis, chronic heart failure in the decompensation stage, acute infectious and inflammatory diseases accompanied by fever (including local), bronchial asthma, pulmonary diseases in the acute phase; diabetes mellitus in the phase of decompensation, diabetic microangiopathy; I trimester and after 36 weeks of pregnancy, with the exception of acute bleeding; hypersensitivity to the active substance. For sclerosing varicose veins of the lower extremities: acute superficial and deep vein thrombosis, deep vein thrombophlebitis, occlusion of arteries of the 3rd and 4th degree.

Precautionary measures

Do not use in bedridden patients.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

It is contraindicated for use in the first trimester and after 36 weeks of pregnancy (with the exception of acute bleeding).

Side effects

Systemic reactions: fever, exudative pleurisy are possible; rarely, skin rash; very rarely - collapse, dizziness, difficulty breathing and chest tightness, nausea, visual disturbances, local sensitivity disorders, metallic taste, anaphylactic shock. Local reactions: depending on the injection site, esophageal necrosis and ulceration may develop, dysphagia, esophageal stenosis, very rarely - esophageal perforation; hyperpigmentation, periphlebitis, thrombophlebitis, tissue necrosis (especially with paravasal administration); with sclerosis of hemorrhoids, transient pains are possible during and after the injection, very rarely, pain in the prostate gland, as well as transient erection disorders.
