Composition
Human chorionic gonadotropin 5000 IU. Solvent: sodium chloride solution d / and 0.9% - 1 ml.
Pharmacological effect
Gonadotropic hormone. It is produced by human placenta and excreted into the urine, from where it can be extracted and cleaned. Stimulates the production of progesterone by the corpus luteum and supports the development of the placenta. It has a gonadotropic effect, mainly luteinizing. In women, the drug causes ovulation and stimulates the synthesis of estrogen and progesterone. In men, it stimulates spermatogenesis and the production of sex steroids.
Contraindications
Individual, depending on the indications and treatment regimen.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Long-term use is not recommended due to the possible formation of antibodies that reduce the effectiveness of treatment. If ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome develops, discontinue use.
Dosage and administration
Indications for use For women: induction of ovulation after stimulation of follicle growth, maintenance of the function of the corpus luteum of the ovary in patients with luteal phase insufficiency. For boys and men: cryptorchidism (ectopia, testicular retention in the abdominal cavity or in the inguinal canal) delayed puberty, hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (in combination with human menopausal gonadotropin preparations) during the differential diagnostic test of anorchism and cryptorchidism in boys when performing a functional test testicles with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism before starting a long-term stimulant treatment.
Side effects
Tumors of various localization, sex hormone-dependent organically caused cryptorchidism (inguinal hernia, consequences of surgical interventions in the inguinal region, abnormal position of the testicles) in boys and men, increased sensitivity to chorionic gonadotropin.
