Composition
In 1 suppositories: 1 g of inactivated microbial cells of E. coli 500 million hydrocortisone 2.5 mg. Excipients: lanolin, vaseline, phenol (preservative).
Pharmacological effect
The drug with anti-inflammatory and immunostimulating action for local use. Cell wall antigens and metabolic products of Escherichia coli, when in contact with the rectal mucosa and skin of the anogenital area, increase local tissue resistance to pathogenic microflora. The drug stimulates the T-system of immunity, phagocytic activity of leukocytes and cells of the reticuloendothelial system, non-specific factors of immunity, reduces exudation during inflammation, normalizes the permeability and tone of blood vessels, stimulates the regeneration of damaged tissues. When applied to the affected surface reduces swelling, hyperemia, itching.

Pharmacokinetics of the drug has not been studied.
Indications
The ointment is prescribed for adults with the following diseases: - persistent hemorrhoids; - perianal dermatitis; - anal itching, especially resistant to other drugs; - anopapillitis; - anal fissure.
Contraindications
- bacterial infections in the treatment area (for example, tuberculosis, syphilis, gonorrhea); - fungal infections in the treatment area; - hypersensitivity to hydrocortisone or other components of the preparation.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
There is no evidence that when using the drug Posterisan Forte, hydrocortisone penetrates the placental barrier or is excreted in breast milk. So far, no information has been found indicating the damaging effect of the drug on the fetus. At the same time, Posterisan, forte, like all drugs, should be used during pregnancy and lactation only as prescribed by a doctor.
Dosage and administration
The ointment is applied with a thin layer to the affected area of the skin and mucous membrane in the morning and in the evening, as well as after each act of defecation.For a deeper introduction of the ointment into the anal canal, you can use a screw-on applicator attached to the kit. Rectal suppositories are used in the morning and evening, as well as after each defecation act. Combined use of the ointment and suppositories is possible. The course of treatment lasts 2-3 weeks.
Side effects
Possible: allergic reactions in patients with hypersensitivity to phenol.
Overdose
Currently, cases of overdose Posterisan Forte were reported.
Interaction with other drugs
With simultaneous use with other drugs containing corticosteroids (pills, drops or solutions for injection) can mutually enhance the actions or side effects.
