Composition
Sage leaves.
Pharmacological effect
Infusion of sage has antimicrobial, local anti-inflammatory and astringent action.
Indications
Inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity (including stomatitis, gingivitis, tonsillitis, ulcerative lesions of the oral mucosa).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to drug components, children's age up to 12 years. With caution during pregnancy, during lactation.
Dosage and administration
Sage leaves are prescribed in the form of infusion - externally, for washing, rinsing, lotions and bath preparation, iontophoresis, applications. To prepare the infusion for external use, 5 g (1 tablespoon) of the raw material is placed in an enameled bowl, 200 ml (1 cup) of boiled water is poured, covered with a lid, heated in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, cooled for 45 minutes at room temperature, filtered wring out. The volume of the resulting infusion is brought to 200 ml with boiled water.

Overdose
Seldom: allergic reactions.
special instructions
When applied correctly (topically), an overdose is unlikely. When ingested in high doses (more than 15 g of dried leaves) symptoms: tachycardia, tinnitus, vomiting, convulsions. Treatment: symptomatic.
