Description
Solution for injection 30% sodium thiosulfate in ampoules of 10 ml - Antidote. Complexing drug used in the treatment of poisoning.
Composition
Sodium thiosulfate.
Pharmacological effect
The antidote. When poisoning with arsenic, mercury, lead compounds, the drug forms non-toxic sulphites. In case of cyanide poisoning, it forms less toxic rodanous compounds. It also has some anti-inflammatory and desensitizing effects.
Pharmacokinetics
After IV injection quickly enters the extracellular fluid. Excreted in the urine. The half-life is 0.65 h.
Indications
Poisoning by compounds of arsenic, mercury, lead, cyanide, iodine salts, bromine. As part of a combination therapy of allergic diseases, arthritis, neuralgia.
