Composition
Drotaverine hydrochloride 40 mg. Excipients: starch, microcrystalline cellulose, polyvinylpyrrolidone, magnesium stearate, talc.
Pharmacological effect
Myotropic antispasmodic. The chemical structure and pharmacological properties similar to papaverine, but has a stronger and more lasting effect. Reduces the entry of Ca2 + into smooth muscle cells (inhibits phosphodiesterase, leads to the accumulation of intracellular cAMP). Reduces the tone of smooth muscles of internal organs and intestinal motility, dilates blood vessels. Does not affect the autonomic nervous system, does not penetrate into the central nervous system. The presence of a direct effect on smooth muscles can be used as an antispasmodic in cases where drugs from the group of m-holinoblokatory (angle-closure glaucoma, prostate adenoma) are contraindicated.

Indications
- prevention and treatment of functional conditions and pain associated with spasm of smooth muscles in chronic gastroduodenitis, chronic holitsistitis, gallstone disease, postcholecystectomy syndrome, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, cardio-and pilorospasma, spastic colitis; - spasms of peripheral arterial vessels, brain vessels; - renal stone disease; - algomenorrhea; - to weaken the contractions of the uterus and relieve cervical spasm during childbirth; - when conducting instrumental studies.
Contraindications

Enhances the action of papaverine, bendazole and other antispasmodics (including m-holinoblokatorov), arterial hypotension caused by tricyclic antidepressants, quinidine and procainamide. Reduces spasmogenic activity of morphine. Phenobarbital increases the severity of the spasmolytic effect of Spazovarin.
