Composition
1 ml of eye drops contains: taurine (taoufon) - 40 mg. Excipients: methyl parahydroxybenzoate, purified water.
Pharmacological effect
Taurine is a sulfur-containing amino acid that is formed in the body during the conversion of cysteine. The drug helps to improve energy processes, stimulates reparative processes in diseases of a dystrophic nature and processes accompanied by a sharp disturbance of the metabolism of eye tissues. As a sulfur-containing amino acid, the drug helps to normalize the function of cell membranes, improve energy and metabolic processes.
Indications
The drug is prescribed for adults with: - Corneal dystrophy. - Senile, traumatic, radiation and other types of cataracts. - With corneal injuries (as a stimulator of reparative processes).
Contraindications
- Increased sensitivity to taurine. - Children's age (up to 18 years). - Pregnancy. - The period of breastfeeding.
Use during pregnancy and lactation

Dosage and administration
When cataracts prescribed in the form of instillation of 1-2 drops 2-4 times a day for 3 months. The course is repeated at monthly intervals. For injuries and dystrophic diseases of the cornea is used in the same doses for one month.
