Composition
100 g of the preparation contains: Active substance: 1.16 g of diclofenac, diethylamine, which corresponds to 1 g of diclofenac sodium. Scientose; diethylamine, carbopol 974 P (acrylic acid polymer), cetomacrogol 1000, cetiol LC, isopropyl alcohol, liquid paraffin, aromatic cream 45, propylene glycol, purified water.
Pharmacological effect
The active ingredient diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that has pronounced analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. Indiscriminately inhibiting type 1 and type 2 cyclooxygenase, impairs arachidonic acid metabolism. Voltaren Emulgel is used to eliminate pain and reduce puffiness associated with the inflammatory process. With the recommended method of application of the drug is absorbed no more than 6% diclofenac.
Indications
Post-traumatic inflammation of soft tissues and joints, for example, due to sprains, overstresses and bruises / Rheumatic diseases of soft tissues (tendovaginitis, bursitis, periarticular tissues lesions) Pain and swelling associated with diseases of muscles and joints (rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, radiculitis, musculoskeletal diseases, inflammation of the muscles and joints sciatica).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to diclofenac or other components of the drug, acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs, aspirin asthma, pregnancy (III trimester), lactation period, children's age (up to 12 years), violation of the integrity of the skin. With caution: Hepatic porphyria (exacerbation), erosive and ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, severe dysfunction of the liver and nights, chronic heart failure, bronchial asthma, old age, pregnancy I and C trimester.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
The drug can not be used in the III trimester of pregnancy. Experience with the drug Voltaren Emulgel - during lactation is not available. Use in the I and II trimesters is possible only after consulting a doctor.
Dosage and administration
Outwardly. For adults and children over 12 years old, the drug is applied to the skin 3-4 times a day and lightly rubbed. The required amount of the drug depends on the size of the painful area.A single dose of the drug - 2-4 g (which is comparable in volume, respectively, with the size of a cherry or walnut). Wash your hands after applying the product. The duration of treatment depends on the indications and the effect noted, (to enhance the effect, the gel can be used together with other Voltaren dosage forms). Side effects
Local reactions: eczema, photosensitivity, contact dermatitis (itching, redness, swelling of the treated skin area, papules, vesicles, peeling). Systemic reactions: generalized skin rash; allergic reactions (urticaria, angioedema, bronchospastic reactions); photosensitization.
Overdose
Extremely low systemic absorption of the active components of the drug for external use makes overdosing almost impossible. Voltaren Emulgel may enhance the effects of drugs that cause photosensitization. Clinically significant interactions with other drugs are not described.
special instructions
Voltaren Emulgel should be applied only to intact skin, avoiding contact with open wounds. After application, do not apply an occlusive dressing. Do not allow contact with the eyes and mucous membranes.
