Pharmacological effect
The combined drug for local use, has antibacterial and local anesthetic effect. Neomycin sulfate is a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic. Effective bactericidal against gram-positive (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus pneumoniae) and gram-negative (Escherichia coli, Shigella dysenteria, Shigella flexneri, Shigella boydii, Shigella sonnei, Proteus spp.) Microorganisms; in relation to Streptococcus spp. - Low activity. Polymyxin B - a polypeptide antibiotic. Active against gram-negative microorganisms: Escherichia coli, Shigella dysenteria, Shigella flexneri, Shigella boydii, Shigella sonnei, Salmonella typhi, Salmonella paratyphi, Pseudomonas aeruginosa. He is active against Proteus spp., Mycobacterium spp., Gram-positive cocci, fungi. It has a weak local irritating effect. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic, it quickly eliminates pain and itching.

Pharmacokinetic studies have not been conducted, because the drug is intended for topical use and systemic effects are unlikely.
Indications
Acute and chronic external otitis media, middle acute otitis media at the pre-perforation stage, chronic exudative otitis media; postoperative purulent complications after radical mastoidectomy, tympanoplasty, antrotomy, fenestration.

Hypersensitivity to one of the components of the drug. During pregnancy and lactation, as well as in children under 1 year old, the drug should be used only when absolutely necessary and under the supervision of a physician.

Dosage and administration
Locally, in the external auditory canal with a special pipette. After instilling a few minutes keep your head bowed. Adults: 4-5 drops 2-4 times a day, children: 2-3 drops 3-4 times a day, depending on the severity of the disease. The course of treatment should not exceed 7 days.
Side effects
Local allergic reactions are possible: hyperemia, itching and peeling of the skin of the external auditory canal, which disappear without treatment, after discontinuation of the drug.Systemic effects are unlikely due to low doses of the drug used. However, long-term treatment may cause systemic effects, in particular, ototoxicity and nephrotoxicity due to the absorption of neomycin.
Overdose
Cases of overdose are not described in the literature.
Interaction with other drugs
Incompatible with monomitsin, streptomycin, gentamicin, amikacin, netilmicin (possibly increased ototoxic effects of the above antibiotics).

Anauran is used exclusively for ear diseases. In severe and persistent infections, local treatment should be supplemented with systemic antibiotic use. Prolonged use of Anauran, like other antibiotics, can lead to the development of superinfection with resistant microorganisms.
