Composition
100 ml of solution contains: Active substance: boric acid 3 g.
Pharmacological effect
Antiseptic. It has weak bacteriostatic and fungistatic properties, has anti-pediculosis action. In combination with hydroxyquinoline sulfate, it has contraceptive properties.
Indications
Antiseptic for use in ENT practice, dermatology, ophthalmology. Contraception (in combination with oxyquinoline sulfate).
Contraindications
Impaired renal function, childhood, treatment of the mammary glands (before feeding the child), pregnancy, hypersensitivity to boric acid.
Precautionary measures
Application for violations of renal function. Contraindicated for disorders of kidney function. Use in children. Contraindicated in childhood.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Contraindicated in pregnancy. It can not be used for processing the mammary glands before feeding the child
Dosage and administration
Individual, depending on indications and the applied dosage form.
Side effects
It is possible: in case of overdose and prolonged use, as well as in violation of the function of the kidneys, acute and chronic toxic reactions (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, headache, confusion, convulsions, oliguria, shock) may occur.
special instructions
It should not be applied to large body surfaces. Do not use externally on hairy areas with acute inflammatory skin diseases. Boric acid in the form of a specific dosage form should be used strictly in accordance with the indications.
