Composition
Natamycin (natamycin) 100 mg. Excipients: lactulose - 300 mg, macrogol glycerylhydroxystearate - 200 mg, colloidal silicon dioxide - 20 mg, solid fat (Supppozir AM) - up to 2300 mg.
Pharmacological effect
Natamycin is an antifungal polyene macrolide antibiotic with a wide spectrum of action. It has a fungicidal effect. It binds to sterols of cell membranes, violating their integrity and function, which leads to the death of microorganisms. It is active against most pathogenic yeast-like fungi (especially Candida albicans), yeast (Torulopsis and Rhodotorula), as well as other pathogenic fungi (Aspergillus, Penicillium). Less active against dermatophytes (Trichophyton, Microsporum, Epidermophyton). Does not affect in vitro on gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Natamycin resistance in clinical practice is not found.
Pharmacokinetics
Ecofucin; does not have a systemic effect, since practically not absorbed through intact skin and intact mucous membranes.
Indications
Vaginitis, vulvitis, vulvovaginitis caused by fungi of the genus Candid.
Contraindications

Dosage and administration
Suppositories, previously freed from contour packaging, are inserted into the vagina, while lying down, as deep as possible, 1 time per day for the night. In case of persistent flow of vaginitis caused by Candida albicans, natamycin is additionally prescribed in the form of pills for oral administration: 1 tab. 4 times / day for 10–20 days for the rehabilitation of the nidus of candidal infection in the intestine. The duration of the course of treatment is set individually. After the disappearance of the symptoms of the disease, it is recommended to continue the treatment for a few more days.
