Pharmacological effect
Stimulator of tissue regeneration for external use. Chondroxide has a combined effect: - slows the progression of osteoarthritis and osteochondrosis; - has anesthetic effect; - has an anti-inflammatory effect; -stimulates the restoration of articular cartilage; improves joint mobility; reduces joint swelling effects. The use of the drug Chondroxide allows to reduce the dose of NSAIDs taken. Chondroxide contains a natural component of chondroitin sulfate (high molecular mucopolysaccharide), which is involved in the construction of cartilage tissue. Chondroitin sulfate improves phosphorus-calcium metabolism in cartilage; reduces the activity of enzymes that destroy cartilage tissue; inhibits the processes of degeneration (destruction) of cartilage tissue; stimulates the synthesis of glycosaminoglycans; inhibits connective tissue collapse. This leads to a decrease in pain and an increase in mobility of the affected joints.
Pharmacokinetics
Chondroxide gel is well absorbed. In accordance with the data obtained in experimental studies in mice using radio-labeled 3H-chondroitin sulfate, the absorbability of chondroitin sulfate is 14%. Dimethyl sulfoxide contributes to a better penetration of chondroitin sulfate through the cell membranes deep into tissues. Chondroitin sulfate after applying the drug Chondroxide gel to the skin quickly and selectively enters the joint, reaching Cmax after 30 minutes and subsequent two-phase elimination of the drug from cartilage. The completion of the rapid phase of elimination occurs within 1 h after application. The retention time of the drug in the joint is 5 hours.
Indications
Treatment and prevention of degenerative-dystrophic diseases of the joints and spine: osteoarthritis of peripheral joints and osteochondrosis of the spine.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. With caution Pregnancy, lactation period, children's age (efficacy and safety have not been established).

Dosage and administration
