Description
Naftizin nasal spray is an alpha-adrenostimulating agent that has a fast, pronounced and prolonged vasoconstrictor effect on the vessels of the mucous membranes (reduces swelling, hyperemia, exudation). Relieves nasal breathing in rhinitis. After 5-7 days, tolerance arises.

Composition
Naphazoline nitrate (naphthyzine). Excipients: boric acid, purified water.
Indications
Acute rhinitis (including on the background of acute respiratory diseases and allergic rhinitis), sinusitis, eustachitis, laryngitis, laryngeal edema of allergic origin, laryngeal edema on the background of irradiation, hyperemia of the mucous membrane after operations on the upper respiratory tract. To stop nasal bleeding.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Use during pregnancy and during breastfeeding is possible only if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or child.
Dosage and administration
In otorhinolaryngology used intranasally (in each nasal passage). Adults and children over 15 years of age - one injection of a 0.05-0.1% solution of the drug 3-4 times a day into each nasal passage. Children 0.05% solution of the drug (or a 0.025% solution of the drug, diluting the 0.05% solution with distilled water): from 2 years to 6 years - one injection in each nasal passage 1-3 times a day, from 6 to 15 years - one injection in each nasal passage 1-3 times a day. For diagnostic purposes: after cleaning the nose, inject each nasal passage once or insert a tampon dipped in a 0.05% solution of the preparation and leave for 1-2 minutes. With rhinitis, the treatment should not exceed 5-7 days in adults and no more than 3 days in children.
Side effects
Nausea, tachycardia, headache, high blood pressure, reactive hyperemia, swelling of the nasal mucosa. Irritation, when used for more than 1 week - swelling of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity, atrophic rhinitis.
Overdose
Symptoms: decrease in body temperature, bradycardia, increased blood pressure. Treatment: symptomatic.
Interaction with other drugs
It should not be used simultaneously with monoamine oxidase inhibitors or within 14 days after the end of their use.Slows down the absorption of local anesthetic drugs (lengthens their action when performing surface anesthesia).
special instructions
May have a resorptive effect. With prolonged use, the severity of the vasoconstrictive action gradually decreases (the phenomenon of tachyphylaxis), and therefore it is recommended to take a break for several days after 5-7 days of use.
