CARDIONAT - a drug that improves metabolism and energy supply of tissues, a synthetic analogue of gamma-butyrobetaine. Suppresses gamma-butyrobetainehydroxinase. Reduces carnitine synthesis and transport of long-chain fatty acids through cell walls, prevents accumulation of activated forms of unoxidized fatty acids in cells, derivatives of acylcarnitine and acylcoenzyme A. Under conditions of ischemia, restores the balance of oxygen delivery processes and its consumption in cells, prevents violation of ATP transport. At the same time, it activates glycolysis, which proceeds without additional consumption of oxygen. As a result of a decrease in the concentration of carnitine, gamma-butyrobetaine, which has vasodilating properties, is intensively synthesized.
The mechanism of action determines the diversity of the pharmacological effects of the drug: increased efficiency, reduction of symptoms of mental and physical overstrain, activation of tissue and humoral immunity, cardioprotective action.
In case of acute ischemic myocardial damage, it slows down the formation of a necrotic zone, shortens the rehabilitation period.
In heart failure, it increases myocardial contractility, increases exercise tolerance, and reduces the frequency of strokes.
In acute and chronic ischemic disorders of cerebral circulation improves blood circulation in the ischemic focus, promotes the redistribution of blood in favor of the ischemic area.
Effective in the case of vascular and dystrophic pathology of the fundus.
Also characteristic is the tonic effect on the central nervous system, the elimination of functional disorders of the somatic and autonomic nervous systems in patients with chronic alcoholism with withdrawal syndrome.
Indications

Contraindications

Dosing and Administration
Increased mental and physical stress: in / in 1 g (10 ml) 1 time / day. The course of treatment is 10-14 days. If necessary, repeat the course in 2-3 weeks.
In case of cardiovascular diseases (as part of complex therapy): in / in 0.5-1 g (5-10 ml); The course of treatment is 10-14 days.
Violation of cerebral circulation: acute phase - in / in 500 mg (5 ml) 1 time / day for 7-10 days, then go on ingestion.

Drug Interactions
Enhances the effect of coronarodilating agents and some antihypertensive drugs, cardiac glycosides.
Can be combined with antianginal drugs, anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, antiarrhythmic drugs, diuretics, bronchodilators.
Due to the possible development of moderate tachycardia and hypotension, caution should be exercised in combination with nitroglycerin, nifedipine, alpha-blockers, antihypertensive drugs and peripheral vasodilators.
