Indomethacin 30 mg, troxerutin 20 mg.
Pharmacological effect
Indovasin gel is a combination drug that contains indomethacin and troxerutin. Indomethacin has a pronounced anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-edema effect. This results in pain relief, reduction of edema and reduction in the recovery time of damaged tissues. The main mechanism of action is associated with the suppression of the synthesis of prostaglandins through a reversible blockade of COX-1 and COX-2. Troxerutin (trihydroxyethyl-rutinozide) is a bioflavonoid. It belongs to angioprotective agents. Reduces capillary permeability and shows venotonic action. Blocks the venodilating action of histamine, bradykinin and acetylcholine. It acts anti-inflammatory on the near-venous tissue, reduces capillary fragility and has some antiplatelet effect. Reduces swelling, improves trophism in case of pathological changes associated with venous insufficiency. When applied to the skin, Indovasin gel suppresses the inflammatory edematous reaction, relieves pain and temperature in the areas of inflammation located on the surface and in depth, reaching the blood vessels located there. Shows venotonic and capillary-protective action.
Pharmacokinetics
The used ointment base provides solubility and release of indomethacin and troxerutin. The gel dosage form, which includes indomethacin and troxerutin, is well absorbed from the skin surface and provides therapeutic effect of the drug. The penetration of the active components of the drug into the systemic circulation is clinically insignificant.
Indications
Pain and edema syndrome in musculo-articular diseases (bursitis, tendovaginitis, synovitis, etc., and varicose veins); trophic disorders on the background of chronic venous insufficiency; posttraumatic hematomas.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity (including acetylsalicylic acid, etc.NSAIDs), gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer (acute phase), impaired blood coagulation of unknown etiology, bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, nasal mucosa polyps, pregnancy, breast-feeding, age up to 14 years.
Precautionary measures
Do not exceed the recommended dose. With caution: simultaneous use of the drug with other NSAIDs, bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, polyps of the nasal mucosa.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Clinical experience that proves the safety of the drug when used during pregnancy and during lactation is absent. Its use is possible only if the expected benefit outweighs the potential risk to the fetus.
Dosage and administration
Outwardly, 1-2 cm of the gel with light rubbing movements applied to the affected areas 2-3 times a day. The course of treatment is not more than 10 days without consulting a doctor.
Side effects
Allergic reactions: skin flushing, rash, urticaria, itching.
Overdose
There is no information about cases of overdose with local use. If you accidentally swallow large quantities, you may have a burning sensation in the mouth, salivation, nausea, vomiting. Treatment: washing the mouth and stomach, and if necessary, symptomatic treatment.
Interaction with other drugs
Ointment may enhance the effect of drugs that cause photosensitization. No clinically significant interaction with other drugs has been described.

It is not applied to open wounds, mucous membranes, oral cavity, eyes.
