Composition
Betamethasone dipropionate 64 mg, which corresponds to the content of betamethasone 50 mg. Auxiliary substances: methyl parahydroxybenzoate - 0.2 g, solid paraffin - 9 g, vaseline - 3 g, propylene glycol - 5 g, liquid paraffin - 18 g, emulsion wax - 7 g, disodium edetate - 0.1 g, sodium sulfite - 0.05 g, purified water - up to 100 g
Pharmacological effect
GCS, has anti-inflammatory, antipruritic and vasoconstrictor action.
Indications
- allergic skin diseases (including acute, subacute and chronic contact dermatitis, professional dermatitis, sun dermatitis, neurodermatitis, pruritus, dishydrotic dermatitis); - acute and chronic forms of non-allergic dermatitis; - psoriasis.
Contraindications
- tuberculosis of the skin; - viral infections of the skin; - vaccination; - perioral dermatitis; - rosacea (rosacea); - hypersensitivity to any component of the drug.
Precautionary measures
Use in children Children may be more susceptible to the use of local GCS, which cause inhibition of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal system (HGN), than older patients, due to increased absorption of the drug, associated with a larger ratio of surface area and body weight. In children who took local GCS, the following side effects were noted: suppression of the HGN system function, Cushing syndrome, linear growth retardation, lag in weight gain, increased intracranial pressure. Symptoms of inhibition of adrenal cortex function in children include a decrease in plasma cortyazole and a lack of response to stimulation of ACTH. Increased intracranial pressure is manifested by bulging of the fontanel, headache, bilateral swelling of the optic nerve head.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Due to the fact that the safety of using local corticosteroids in pregnant women has not been established, the use of drugs of this class during pregnancy is justified only if the benefit to the mother clearly exceeds the possible harm to the fetus. Preparations of this group cannot be used in large doses for pregnant women for a long time. Since it has not yet been established whether glucocorticosteroids, when topically applied and systemic absorption can penetrate into breast milk, a decision should be made to discontinue breastfeeding or discontinue the drug, given how necessary is its use for the mother.
Dosage and administration
Acriderm should be applied with a thin layer to the affected areas 1-3 times / day, slightly rubbing. The duration of treatment should be no more than 3 weeks. The use of the drug Akriderm in children under the age of 12 years is carried out under the supervision of a physician.
Side effects
Possible: burning, irritation and dryness of the skin, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, hypopigmentation, allergic contact dermatitis, skin atrophy, stretch marks and prickly frost. In case of side effects, you should consult a doctor.
Overdose
Symptoms: excessive or prolonged use of local corticosteroids can cause depression of the function of the pituitary-adrenal system, which can cause the development of secondary insufficiency of the adrenal cortex and the appearance of symptoms of hypercorticism, including Cushing syndrome. Treatment: appropriate symptomatic treatment is indicated. The acute symptoms of hypercorticism are usually reversible. If necessary, correction of electrolyte imbalance is shown. In the case of chronic toxic effects, the gradual abolition of the GCS is recommended.
