Pharmacological effect
Means from a phytopathogenic fungus of the ionotus oblique (korotvubchaty tinder, oblique tinder), developing in the form of growths on birch trunks. The main active ingredients are pigments, which form a chromogenic polyphenol carbon complex (20%) in combination with polysaccharides (6-8%), agaricinic and humic-like chagic acids. The tonic effect on the central nervous system and immunomodulating properties provide an increase in the body's resistance to hypoxia and other adverse effects. The presence of copper, manganese, cobalt provides a stimulating effect on blood formation, especially on leukopoiesis. Birch fungus preparations have a gastroprotective effect, normalize the functions of the digestive glands. An increase in the functional activity of the immune system, especially the function of natural killer cells, apparently determines the antitumor properties of the birch fungus.
Indications
Befungin is used mainly as a symptomatic remedy for chronic gastritis, dyskinesia of the gastrointestinal tract with symptoms of atony, for gastric ulcer, and also as a symptomatic remedy that improves the general condition of cancer patients.
Contraindications
Individual intolerance.
Dosage and administration
The drug is used inside 30 minutes before meals. Before use, the contents of the vial are shaken, diluted with three teaspoons of the drug in 150 ml of warm boiled water. Take 1 tbsp. spoon 3 times a day for 3 to 5 months. If necessary, conduct repeated courses with breaks of 7-10 days.
Side effects
Allergic reactions, with prolonged use of the drug may be dyspeptic symptoms.
Overdose
Data on drug overdose in humans are not available. The specific antidote is unknown. It is recommended to do a gastric lavage, to conduct supportive symptomatic treatment.
Interaction with other drugs
It is not recommended to take penicillin and glucose at the same time.

During the period of treatment, it is recommended mainly milk and vegetable food, restriction of fat and meat intake, exclusion of smoked meat, spicy seasonings and canned food.
