; Hyoscine butyl bromide 10 mg. Auxiliary substances: purified water - 10 mg, solid fat W45 - 1610 mg.
Pharmacological effect
; Blocker of m-cholinergic receptors. It has a spasmolytic effect on the smooth muscles of the internal organs, reduces the secretion of digestive glands. It does not penetrate the BBB (because hyoscin N-butyl bromide is a quaternary ammonium derivative), therefore, there is no anticholinergic effect on the central nervous system.

Indications
- spastic states of the gastrointestinal tract, biliary tract, urinary tract (including renal colic, biliary colic, intestinal colic, cholecystitis, pylorospasm) - spastic dyskinesia of the biliary tract and gall bladder — peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenal ulcer in the acute phase (exacerbation) complex therapy) - algodysmenorrhea.
Contraindications
- angle-closure glaucoma; - myasthenia gravis; - megacolon; - Hypersensitivity to hyoscin-N-butyl bromide and other components of the drug.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
; Currently there are no data on the negative effect of the drug on the fetus. However, during pregnancy (especially in the first trimester), the drug should be prescribed with caution. The safety of the drug during lactation has not been established. However, cases of adverse effects in newborns are not reported.
Dosage and administration
; Adults and children over 6 years old are prescribed for 1-2 tab. 3 times / day or rectally 1-2 suppositories 3 times / day. The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor. Tablets should be taken orally, drinking plenty of water. The suppository is injected into the rectum with the pointed end forward.
Side effects
; Side effects associated with anticholinergic effects of the drug: dry mouth, dry skin, tachycardia, drowsiness, accommodation paresis; difficulty urinating is possible (usually weakly expressed and passes independently). Allergic reactions: skin rash; in rare cases - difficulty breathing.
Overdose
; Currently, overdoses of the drug Buscopan are not described, therefore the following symptoms and recommendations are theoretical. Symptoms: urinary retention, dry mouth, redness of the skin, tachycardia, suppression of gastrointestinal motility, transient visual disturbances. Treatment: gastric lavage with activated charcoal and then with 15% magnesium sulfate solution.In the following, cholinomimetic applications are shown. In case of glaucoma, pilocarpine is prescribed topically (as eye drops). If necessary, prescribe cholinomimetics for systemic use (for example, administered in / m or / in neostigmine at a dose of 0.5-2.5 mg); conduct supportive and symptomatic therapy; with paralysis of the respiratory muscles - intubation and mechanical ventilation; with urinary retention - bladder catheterization.
Interaction with other drugs
; Buscopan can enhance the anticholinergic effect of antihistamines, tricyclic antidepressants, quinidine, amantadine, disopyramide. The simultaneous use of Buscopan and dopamine antagonists (metoclopramide) leads to a weakening effect on the gastrointestinal tract of both drugs. Buscopan may increase tachycardia caused by beta-adrenomimetics.

With caution, the drug is prescribed for suspected intestinal obstruction (including pyloric stenosis), urinary tract obstruction (including benign prostatic hyperplasia), and a tendency to tachyarrhythmia (including atrial fibrillation).
