Composition
1 tab. bismuth tri-potassium dicitrate 304.6 mg, which corresponds to a bismuth oxide content of 120 mg. Excipients: corn starch - 70.6 mg, povidone K30 - 17.7 mg, potassium polyacrylate - 23.6 mg, macrogol 6000 - 6 mg, magnesium stearate - 2 mg. The composition of the shell: opadry OY-S-7366 (hypromellose 5 MPa · s - 3.2 mg, macrogol 6000 - 1.1 mg).
Pharmacological effect
Antifungal polyene antibiotic from the group of macrolides, which has a wide spectrum of action. It has a fungicidal effect. Natamycin binds the sterols of the cell membrane of a fungus cell, violating its integrity and function, which leads to cell death. The majority of pathogenic yeast fungi, especially Candida albicans, are sensitive to natamycin. Dermatophytes are less sensitive to natamycin. Resistance to natamycin in clinical practice is not marked.
Pharmacokinetics
When applied to the skin and mucous membranes, practically does not undergo systemic absorption, and therefore does not have a systemic effect.
Indications
fungal diseases of the skin and mucous membranes caused by pathogens sensitive to the drug (including vaginitis, vulvitis, vulvovaginitis, balanoposthitis caused by fungi of the genus Candida; candidiasis of the skin and nails; external otitis, either caused primarily by fungi or complicated by candidosis; ringworm) .
Contraindications

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Dosage and administration
For dermatomycosis (including candidiasis of the skin, diaper rash in children), cream is applied to the affected surface of the skin one or several (up to 4) times a day. In case of mycosis of the external auditory canal, the affected surface is smeared with cream once or several times (up to 4 times) per day. Before using the drug, the ear is cleaned. After applying the drug in the ear canal is placed a tampon of natural material (cotton, wool). When vulvitis, vulvovaginitis, balanopostitis cream is applied to the affected skin once or several times a day. The duration of treatment is set individually. After the disappearance of the symptoms of the disease, it is recommended to continue the treatment for a few more days.
Side effects
Local reactions: possible slight irritation, burning sensation.
Overdose
Currently, no cases of overdose of Pimafucin have been reported.
