Composition
1 tablet contains: active ingredients: paracetamol - 250 mg, propiphenazone - 150 mg, caffeine - 50 mg; excipients: microcrystalline cellulose 120 mg, corn starch 21.2 mg, talc 9.75 mg, magnesium stearate 3.25 mg, formaldehyde casein 32.5 mg, methylhydroxypropylcellulose 12 mg, fine anhydrous silicon 1.3 mg.
Pharmacological effect
Saridon is a combination drug containing paracetamol, caffeine, and propyphenazone. Paracetamol and propifenazone have an analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effect. Caffeine reduces drowsiness and fatigue, has an effect on the cardiovascular system: it increases the heart rate, increases blood pressure in case of hypotension, and in this combination strengthens the analgesic effect of the other components.
Indications
Pain of various etiologies, including: headache, toothache, migraine pain, neuralgia, myalgia, sciatica, post-traumatic and postoperative pain, 2 dysmenorrheal pains. To reduce the increased body temperature with colds and other infectious and inflammatory diseases.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, marked impaired liver or kidney function, the genetic absence of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, glaucoma, anemia, leukopenia, irritability, insomnia, coronary heart disease, angina. Undesirable use during pregnancy and during breastfeeding. Children under 12 years old. Should not be combined with the intake of alcoholic beverages.
Dosage and administration
Apply inside usually 1 tablet 3-4 times a day. The maximum single dose for adults 2 pills, daily - 6 pills. The duration of treatment is no more than 3 days as an antipyretic and no more than 5 days as an anesthetic. For adolescents 12-18 years old - ½-1 tablet 2-3 times a day. Tablets are recommended to be taken after food, washing down with a large amount of liquid.
Side effects
At therapeutic doses, the drug is usually well tolerated. Sometimes allergic skin reactions, nausea, vomiting, palpitations, dizziness, sleep disturbance are possible. Rarely - disorders of the blood system (thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, agranulocytosis). With long-term administration in high doses, hepatotoxic and nephrotoxic effects are possible.
Interaction with other drugs
The simultaneous use of the drug Saridon with barbiturates, anticonvulsants, rifampicin, carbamazepine and alcoholic beverages should be avoided. Metoclopramide accelerates the absorption of paracetamol. Caffeine accelerates the absorption of ergotamine. Propifenazone enhances the action of oral antidiabetic agents and anticoagulants, reduces the effectiveness of potassium-saving diuretics. Signs of acute poisoning: nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, sweating, pallor of the skin, tachycardia. The victim should do a gastric lavage, prescribe adsorbents (activated carbon) and consult a doctor.
special instructions
It is used with caution in the elderly, patients with impaired liver and kidney function. Excessive consumption of caffeine-containing products (tea, coffee) during treatment may cause symptoms of overdose.
