Pharmacological effect
NSAIDs. When applied externally, it has a local anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect. The mechanism of action is due to inhibition of the activity of COX I and II, which leads to disruption of the metabolism of arachidonic acid and suppression of the synthesis of prostaglandins in the focus of inflammation. The aqueous-alcoholic base of the gel has an additional local anesthetic effect. When applied topically, it leads to the disappearance or alleviation of pain at the site of gel application, reduces pain in the joints at rest and during movement, as well as morning stiffness and swelling of the joints. It helps to increase the range of motion in the affected joints.
Indications
- inflammatory and degenerative diseases of the musculoskeletal system (including rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, juvenile arthritis, acute and chronic gouty arthritis). - rheumatic lesions of soft tissues. - post-traumatic pain syndrome (including traumatic bruises, sprains, muscles and tendons). - sore muscles and joints caused by heavy physical exertion. - lumbago. - sciatica. - neuralgia.
Contraindications
- gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer in the acute phase - impaired blood formation of unclear genesis - impaired skin integrity - pregnancy - lactation period (breastfeeding) - children under 6 years old - hypersensitivity to sodium diclofenac, acetylsalicylic acid and other NSAIDs. Use during pregnancy and lactation
Diclovit is contraindicated for use during pregnancy and lactation.
Dosage and administration
A small amount of gel (2-4 g, which corresponds to a gel strip of 1-2 cm) is applied with a thin layer of 2-3 on the skin over the inflammation and gently rubbed until completely absorbed. The duration of the drug is up to 14 days, in some cases, a longer course of therapy is possible.
