Indications
Intestinal amebiasis in adults: - as an additional agent for treatment with tissue amebicides; - as monotherapy for asymptomatic amebiasis.

Use during pregnancy and lactation
Due to the lack of clinical experience, the use of the drug during pregnancy and lactation is contraindicated.
Dosage and administration
Inside, for acute intestinal infections, 4-6 capsules per day for 3-5 days; with chronic amoebiasis - 4 capsules per day for 10 days (maximum duration of treatment is 4 weeks). For the prevention of intestinal infections and diarrhea during travel - 2 capsules per day during the trip and 3 days upon return.
Side effects
in isolated cases, elevated levels of hepatic transaminases were noted; most of them were asymptomatic and ended with a decrease in level after stopping treatment. Hepatitis was reported. Some rare hypersensitive skin reactions (urticaria, Quincke's disease) or bullous type (persistent erythema pigmentosa) were reported. Overdose

Long-term use of Intetrix is not recommended due to the risk of peripheral neuropathy (see. ADVERSE EFFECTS). It is not possible to administer the Mettrix with other drugs containing hydroxyquinolines. The drug contains azorubine dye (E122) and may cause allergic reactions. Do not use Intetrix for a long time due to the risk of peripheral or optic neuropathy. The drug contains lactose, therefore, its use is not recommended for patients with galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose syndrome malabsorption (a rare hereditary disease).
