Composition
Nystatin 500,000 ED. Excipients: paraoxybenzoic acid propyl ester, food citric acid, vaseline oil, Witepsol H-15, Wiepsol W-35.
Pharmacological effect
Antifungal drug from the group of polyenes. Binding to the sterols in the cell membrane of fungi, violates its permeability, which leads to the release of the main components of the cell. It has a fungistatic effect. It is active against yeast-like fungi of the genus Candida.
Pharmacokinetics
When applied topically, it is not absorbed into the systemic circulation. Does not accumulate. Excretion is excreted from the body with feces.
Indications
Candidiasis of the lower intestine; prevention of fungal infections in the pre- and postoperative periods.
Contraindications
Impaired liver function; pancreatitis; peptic ulcer and duodenal ulcer; pregnancy; hypersensitivity to the drug.

Use during pregnancy and lactation
Nystatin is contraindicated for use in pregnancy.
Dosage and administration
Rectal suppositories are injected deep into the rectum and 1 suppository 2 times / day (morning and evening). The course of treatment is 10-14 days. If necessary, conduct repeated courses of treatment.
Side effects
Allergic reactions: pruritus, chills, fever. Others: there is a risk of spreading resistant forms of fungi, which requires discontinuation of the drug.
Overdose
