Pharmacological effect
Antiseptic. It is a sodium tetraborate - a derivative of boric acid. Possesses bacteriostatic and fungistatic activity. Not absorbed through intact skin.
Indications
Candidiasis of the oral mucosa, pharynx, upper respiratory tract, external genital organs. Diaper rash, bedsores.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the drug; violation of the integrity of the skin (during skin treatment). Pregnancy, lactation.
Dosage and administration
Locally and externally. Candidosis of the mucous membrane of the oral cavity, pharynx, upper respiratory tract: lubricate the affected areas of the mucous membrane 2-3 times a day. The course of treatment is 3 - 7 days. The frequency of use and the duration of the course of treatment in children must be coordinated with the doctor. Vaginal candidiasis (thrush): before using the drug, it is necessary to douch with boiled water or an extract of chamomile flowers. Then moisten a cotton swab in a solution of sodium tetraborate and enter into the vagina for 20 - 30 minutes. With minor secretions and itching, the drug is used 1 time per day (at night), and with heavy discharge 2 times a day (morning and night). The course of treatment is 5 - 7 days. Strength, pressure sores: lubricate the affected skin 2 to 3 times a day. The duration of the course of treatment depends on the extent and area of the lesion.
Side effects
Hyperemia and burning sensation at the site of application or administration of the drug.
