Pharmacological effect

Combined drug with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects for local use in ophthalmology. Tobramycin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic from the group of aminoglycosides. Suppresses the growth and development of gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms. Blocks the 30S subunit in ribosomes and stops protein synthesis. At higher concentrations, disrupts the function of the cytoplasmic membrane, causing cell death. Active against gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus spp. (including Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis); Gram negative bacteria: Citrobacter spp., Enterobacter spp., Escherichia coli, Klebsiella spp., Morganella morganii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus mirabilis, Proteus vulgaris, Providensia spp., Serratia spp. Dexamethasone - GKS. It has a pronounced anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and immunosuppressive effect. When applied topically, it has antipruritic and vasoconstrictor effects. It interacts with specific cytoplasmic receptors and forms a complex that penetrates the cell nucleus and stimulates the synthesis of m-RNA. Inhibits the release of inflammatory mediators from eosinophils and mast cells. Inhibits the activity of hyaluronidase, collagenase and proteases. Reduces capillary permeability, stabilizes cell membranes.

Pharmacokinetics

When applied topically, systemic absorption is low.
