Composition
Ethyl methyl hydroxypyridine succinate 125 mg. Excipients: kaolin - 2.47 mg, sodium carboxymethyl starch - 12.58 mg, microcrystalline cellulose - 11.35 mg, povidone - 13.4 mg, talc - 5.3 mg, calcium stearate - 2.75 mg. Coat composition: hypromellose - 4.95 mg, macrogol - 1.28 mg, titanium dioxide - 1.65 mg, talc - 370 mcg.
Pharmacological effect
Antioxidant drug. It has a wide range of pharmacological activity: it increases the body's resistance to stress, exhibits an anxiolytic effect, which is not accompanied by myorelaxation; possesses nootropic properties, prevents and reduces the disturbances in the process of learning and memorization that occur during aging and exposure to various pathogenic factors; has an anticonvulsant effect; shows antioxidant and antihypoxic properties; increases concentration and performance; weakens the toxic effect of alcohol. The drug improves the metabolism of brain tissue and their blood supply, improves microcirculation and rheological properties of blood, reduces platelet aggregation. Stabilizes the membrane structure of blood cells (erythrocytes and platelets). It has a hypolipidemic effect, reduces the content of total cholesterol and LDL. The mechanism of action of mexicrim is due to its antioxidant and membrane-protective action. It inhibits lipid peroxidation, increases the activity of superoxidase, increases the ratio of lipid-protein, reduces the viscosity of the membrane, increases its fluidity. Modulates the activity of membrane-bound enzymes (calcium-independent phosphodiesterase, adenylate cyclase, acetylcholinesterase), receptor complexes (benzodiazepine, GABA, acetylcholine), which enhances their ability to bind to ligands, contributes to preserving the structural and functional organization of a biomembrane, and that is used by the biomembrane that is used by the biomembrane; Mexiprim boosts the dopamine content in the brain. Indications
Anxiety disorders in neurotic and neurosis-like states; vegetative vascular dystonia; light cognitive disorders of various genesis (with psychoorganic syndrome and asthenic disorders caused by acute and chronic disorders of cerebral circulation, head injuries, neuroinfections and intoxications, senile and atrophic processes); memory disorders and intellectual impairment in the elderly; exposure to extreme (stress) factors; withdrawal syndrome in alcoholism with a predominance of neurosis-like and vegetative-vascular disorders.
Contraindications
Liver failure; renal failure; pregnancy; breastfeeding period; childhood; hypersensitivity to the drug.
Precautionary measures
Mepriprim course therapy is completed gradually, reducing the dose within 2-3 days.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Use of the drug is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.
Dosage and administration
Mexiprim is prescribed by mouth. Therapeutic dose and duration of treatment are determined by the sensitivity of the patient to the drug. At the beginning of treatment, the drug is prescribed in a dose of 250-500 mg, the average daily dose is 250-500 mg, the maximum daily dose is 800 mg. The daily dose is divided into 2-3 doses per day. For treatment of anxiety disorders, vegetative-vascular dystonia and cognitive impairment, the drug is used for 2-6 weeks. When relieving alcohol withdrawal syndrome, the duration of use is 5-7 days.
Side effects
On the part of the digestive system: rarely - nausea, dry mouth. Others: rarely - drowsiness, allergic reactions.
Overdose
Symptoms: sleep disturbances (insomnia, in some cases drowsiness). Treatment: symptoms usually disappear on their own within 24 hours. In severe cases of insomnia, nitrazepam is recommended at a dose of 10 mg, oxazepam at a dose of 10 mg or diazepam at a dose of 5 mg.
Interaction with other drugs
Mexiprim is compatible with psychotropic drugs. When mepiprim is combined, it enhances the action of anxiolytics (benzodiazepine derivatives), anti-parkinsonian drugs and carbamazepine. Mexiprym reduces the toxic effect of ethanol.
