Release form

Solution

Composition

Sodium hydrophosphate dodecahydrate 10.8 g sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate 24.4 g Excipients: glycerol 99%, sodium saccharin, sodium benzoate (E211), ginger and lemon flavoring (ginger oil, alcohol, lemon oil, partially stabilized lemon oil, citric acid, water) purified water.

Pharmacological effect

Laxative drug with osmotic properties. The mechanism of action of the drug is based on the increase through osmotic processes of water retention in the lumen of the small intestine. The accumulation of fluid in the ileum leads to increased motility and subsequent intestinal cleansing.

Pharmacokinetics

The drug has only a local effect, so pharmacokinetic studies are not considered necessary. Sodium phosphate is poorly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, however, a small absorption of sodium ions and phosphates takes place and is dose-dependent.

Indications

- preparation for endoscopic or radiographic examination of the colon; - preparation for surgery on the colon.

Contraindications

The drug should not be used in patients with the following diseases, conditions or suspicions of them: - partial or complete intestinal obstruction; - violation of the integrity of the intestine; - megacolon (congenital or acquired); - acute inflammatory bowel disease; - heart failure; - renal failure; - the presence of nausea, vomiting, pain in the abdominal cavity; - children's and teenage age up to 15 years; - hypersensitivity to the drug.

Side effects

On the part of the digestive system: nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhea; very rarely - with endoscopy, on the sigmoid and rectal mucosa, single or multiple autophobia-like formations can be observed (clinically insignificant, spontaneously disappear without treatment). From the side of the central nervous system: asthenia, weakness, headache, dizziness. On the part of metabolism: in individual patients from risk groups - dehydration of the body and / or electrolyte imbalance (including hyperphosphatemia, hypocalcemia, hypokalemia, hypernatremia, acidosis). Other: allergic reactions.

Overdose

Cases of death due to hyperphosphatemia with concomitant hypocalcemia, hypernatremia and acidosis have been described, after using the drug in high doses in children and patients with constipation. At the same time, there are cases of complete recovery after an accidental overdose of the drug in children or patients with constipation (one of them received a 6-fold dose of the drug).

Interaction with other drugs

The drug should be used with caution in patients taking calcium channel blockers, diuretics, lithium-based drugs and other drugs that can affect electrolyte levels, as there is a likelihood of hyperphosphatemia, hypocalcemia, hypokalemia, and dehydration due to hypernatremia and acidosis. In the period of taking the drug Flit Phospho-soda, it is possible to delay or stop the absorption of drugs in the gastrointestinal tract. The effect of regularly taken medications (including antibiotics, oral contraceptives, antiepileptic drugs and hypoglycemic agents) may be reduced or absent altogether.

special instructions

The drug should not be used as a treatment for constipation. With caution should use the drug in elderly patients, weakened, with reduced kidney function, heart disease, colostomy, on a diet low in salt, because there is a likelihood of hyperphosphatemia, hypocalcemia, hypokalemia, dehydration against the background of hypernatremia, acidosis. The patient should be warned of the possibility of frequent loose stools. Very rarely, endoscopy on the sigmoid and rectal mucosa showed single or multiple autoform changes: lymphoid follicles, discrete formations of an inflammatory nature, or changes caused by the preparation. These abnormalities are not clinically significant and spontaneously disappear without treatment. Rarely, prolongation of the QT interval on an ECG may occur as a result of electrolyte imbalance of the type of hypocalcemia or hypokalemia. Influence on the ability to drive motor vehicles and control mechanisms The drug does not affect the ability to drive motor vehicles and control mechanisms.
