1 ml contains: methionyl-glutamyl-histidyl-phenylalanyl-prolyl-glycyl-proline 1 mg. Auxiliary substances: purified water, methyl para-hydroxybenzoate.
Pharmacological effect
Semax drops nasal 0.1% has the original mechanism of neurospecific action on the central nervous system (CNS). Semax drops nasal 0.1% synthetic analogue of corticotropin, which has nootropic properties and is completely devoid of hormonal activity. The drug affects the processes associated with the formation of memory and learning. Semax drops nasal 0.1% enhances attention in teaching and analyzing information, improves the consolidation of a memorable trace in patients after neurosurgical interventions, cerebral trauma, suffering from cerebrovascular diseases, including dyscirculatory encephalopathy; improves the body's adaptation to hypoxia, cerebral ischemia, anesthesia and other damaging effects. The drug is practically non-toxic with a single and long-term administration. Does not show allergic, embryotoxic, teratogenic and mutagenic properties. Does not have a local irritating effect.
Pharmacokinetics
Absorbed from the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity, while absorbed up to 60-70% in terms of the active substance. Indications
Intellectual-mnestic (memory, attention) disorders, conditions after traumatic brain injury and neurosurgical operations. prevention and treatment of post-anesthetic and asthenoneurotic disorders of various origins. to enhance adaptation in extreme situations. prevention of mental fatigue. Ophthalmology: optic nerve atrophy, inflammatory neuritis, toxic-allergic and vascular etiology, glaucomatous optic neuropathy (glaucoma), diabetic retinopathy. In pediatrics, it is used to treat minimal brain dysfunctions.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Acute psychotic states, disorders accompanied by anxiety. Pregnancy, breastfeeding. Endocrine diseases.
Precautionary measures
Due to the fact that the drug is administered intranasally (in the nose), the simultaneous administration of drugs with a vasoconstrictive effect of a local nature is not recommended.
Use during pregnancy and lactation

Dosage and administration
Semax is applied intranasally. Memory impairment - 3 drops in each nasal passage 2 times a day for 10 days, 2 courses per year are recommended. Chronic brain ischemia, astheno-neurotic disorders - 3 drops in each nasal passage for 16 days, 2-4 courses per year are recommended. Prevention of stroke and TIA - 3 drops in each nasal passage 2 times a day for 10 days, 2 courses per year are recommended. The recovery period after a stroke and TIA - 4 drops in each nasal passage 6 times a day for 16 days. Side effects

Interaction with other drugs
