Pharmacokinetics
Dissociates into ornithine and aspartate, which are absorbed in the small intestine by active transport through the intestinal epithelium. Excreted in the urine through the urea cycle.
Indications
Acute and chronic liver diseases accompanied by hyperaemonemia; - hepatic encephalopathy, incl. as part of a complex therapy of impaired consciousness (precoma and coma); - as a corrective additive to drugs for parenteral nutrition in patients with protein deficiency.
Contraindications
Severe renal failure (serum creatinine> 3 mg / 1 dl); - lactation period (breastfeeding); - hypersensitivity to the drug.
Precautionary measures
Before intravenous administration, dissolve the contents of the ampoules in 500 ml of the infusion solution (do not dissolve the contents of more than 6 amp.). If nausea or vomiting occurs, you should optimize the speed of the drug.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
During pregnancy, the use of the drug is possible only under the strict supervision of a physician. At the time of treatment should stop breastfeeding.
Dosage and administration
Into / inject up to 40 ml (4 amp.) / Day, dissolving the contents of the ampoules in 500 ml of infusion solution. In hepatic encephalopathy (depending on the severity of the condition), up to 80 ml (8 amp.) / Day is injected into / in.
